About Me
I am currently a student at coterminal masters student at Stanford University, studying for my BS in Management Science and Engineering, and my MS in Computer Science. I am a co-coordinator of the CS106/198 program, which takes quite a bit of my time. I have the belief that technology and education (especially together) can change the world for the better, and foster communication and understanding.
I'm also really interested in music of all kinds, and I play piano and guitar. Recently, I obtained copies of Reason and Ableton Live, and started playing around with recording, generating, and mixing my own music. Eventually, I hope to open up a page on this site to release some of it. Until then, though, I have always refrained from public demonstrations of my music before I've convinced myself that the work is complete, so you'll find little of my recordings here.
Concerning my life, I was born in Hangzhou, China in 1987, and moved to St. Paul, Minnesota in 1993. For those in that area, I started out in the Roseville School District, then transferred to Capitol Hill Magnet in fourth grade. In sixth grade, we moved to Eden Prairie, where I lived and went to school until college. In high school, I was big with math competitions and quiz bowl and mock trial, and had a period of wanting to pursue a math major after attending Stanford Math Camp, which also convinced me that Stanford was where I wanted to be. I came out to California for college in September 2005, and quickly got involved with education (especially with EPGY) and entrepreneurship. I forsee myself staying in this area for the forseeable future.
